PLEASE HELP - THE IPHS MUSEUM NEEDS A NEW FLAG & FLAG POLE !

Due to the very strong winds that whip in off the lake our flags keep fraying! Look at these photographs taken at 5pm on Thursday July 30th. Earlier this year, the wind was so strong it snapped the steel flag pole in half which had been donated to the museum by Frank Allard in memory of his son, Eddie. Now, we've moved the flag so it gets whipped by the wind less and we would like to move the flag pole, too, if we had one that is.

Do you have any spare flags to send us or a spare flag pole? We take such a lot of pride in keeping the flag flying. We've gone through at least five flags since the museum opened officially In August 2018. From far away, like in this first photograph, you can't really see the damage until you get up close, look at the last photo! Dear me, please help! Send your spare flags to: Island Pond Historical Society, Po Box 408. Island Pond. Vermont 05846.

Thank you.
